My name is Agus Setiawan –and you can call me Agus– now living in Bandung (during weekend) and in Jakarta (during work day).
I work as a researcher in the Centre of Environmental Technology, Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Jakarta since 1996. My major is physical oceanography. First time work at BPPT, I involved in the SEAWATCH Indonesia Project, a cooperation project between Indonesia and Norway. I work in this project until 2000 and then took a master program in Department of Geophysics and Meteorology, Institute of Technology Bandung until 2002. My thesis is about El-Nino, Dipole Mode, and Monsoon interaction in Indonesia region. In 2003, I went to Hamburg, Germany to take my PhD in Institute of Oceanography, Hamburg University until 2007 and back to work again in BPPT since September 2007. My PhD research is modelling over- and compound tides of the Irish and Celtic Seas using variational data assimilation methods. Now I am involving in BPPT’s global warming project and trying to develop a biogeochemical model for Indonesian waters.
Everything I wrote here is my personal opinion , so if you have any complain, please don’t put all the blame to my boss, just send an e-mail to setiawan.agus[at]gmail.com or write a comment in my blog.
