My name is Agus Setiawan, and you can call me Agus. Now, I am staying in Jakarta during workday and in Bandung during weekend.
Since September 1996, I worked as a researcher in the Centre of Environmental Technology, Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Jakarta. My major is physical oceanography. First time work at BPPT, I involved in SEAWATCH Indonesia Project, a G to G cooperation project between Indonesia and Norway. I worked in this project until 2000 and after that took a master program in Department of Geophysics and Meteorology, Institute of Technology Bandung. I finished my Master in physical oceanography in 2002 with a thesis about El-Nino, Dipole Mode, and Monsoon interaction in the Maritime Continent of Indonesia. In 2003, I went to Hamburg, Germany for my PhD in the Institute of Oceanography, Hamburg University. I finished my PhD on July 4th, 2007. My PhD research is modelling over- and compound tides of the Irish and Celtic Seas using variational data assimilation methods.
In April 2010, I move to the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and work in the Institute of Marine Research and Observation (IMRO) in Perancak, Bali. After 5 years of hard work at IMRO, finally I moved to Ancol, North Jakarta.Currently I am working as Senior Engineer in the Marine Research Centre (MARCENT), Agency for Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources (AMFRHR), Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF).
